Ready to START RACING?
Start Racing launches this coming Saturday 7th September 2024
This new program helps sailors get into racing using the SYC Hobie Wave Catamarans in the Off the Beach Catamaran Division Races at Hollywell Sailing Squadron.
Open to the Public, club membership is not required!
Southport Yacht Club runs Off The Beach Catamaran (OTBC) racing on select Saturdays throughout the year as per the Sailing Instructions.
The Sailing Instructions are the rules that govern Club Racing and outline everything you need to know when racing.

Course Overview

This course focuses on sailing in stronger winds and introducing extra equipment like spinnaker and trapeze to leverage the full boat potential on the water.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and you should have the skills, knowledge and experience gained from the Start Sailing 2 course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to continue developing their sailing skills in dinghies. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Better Sailing completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
