Back by popular demand, the RS Quest Dinghies are returning to Hollywell Sailing Squadron for another school holidays! This week-long program is only run 3 weeks in the year and provides youth opportunity to gain new skills and improve overall sailing ability.
Program Overview
What's different about this program? • It's the only time we have multi-crew race dinghies at Hollywell. • They are the fastest and most complex dinghy the club has to offer and you don't have to buy. • It provides a springboard into other more advanced sailing.
The program develops: • Teamwork and crew coordination • Advanced control in a faster and more complex boat with 3 sails • Understanding the rules of the road and racing rules of sailing
Participants will walk away feeling more competent and confident sailing faster, more complex boats: • Keelboats • Multi-crew dinghies like 420 or RS Feva • Single person dinghies like the ILCA/Laser
We provide step-by-step training to ensure the safety of participants and structure the course to suit their current skill level. Ultimately, like any sport, becoming a better sailor is just practice. Time-on-water This program is just time-on-water on a faster, more complex boat.
Program Details
Dates: Monday 13 April – Friday 17 April Duration: 5 days or single sessions
• Are aged 12–17 • Have completed a term of Teen Learn to Sail at Oxenford Watersports Centre, or have their Start Sailing 1 & 2 cert (or equivalent) • Hold a SYC Cadet Membership
