The idea for this event came about after Southport Yacht Club hosted the 2025 UniSport Nationals. During the event, many university sailors shared their enthusiasm for team sailing and highlighted the opportunity to further grow competition pathways in Australia beyond the existing national event. With that feedback, and with the support of local universities, we developed a plan to create an event shaped by the interests of the university sailing community. Our aim is to establish a premier annual Team Sailing event that strengthens the national university sailing network and continues to grow in size and quality over the years.
