Out There Pathway
Naturally once your child has completed Out There 1, 2, and 3 competencies they will move over to Holywell Sailing Squadron and sail with the Junior Fleet on Sunday 9am - 11:30am, where they will learn tides, stronger winds, and other boats. Here they will sail on Open Bic Skiffs, but it is recommended you purchase a 4.7 Laser, an Olympic class dinghy.
Then move onto our Sailing Team on Thursday nights (3:30pm-6pm) and Race on Sunday afternoons (11:30am-4pm). (This will require investing in their own boat)
Don't stress, we'll talk with you and your kids throughout the program to identify which path best suits.

Overview

OutThere Sailing 1 is a great introduction to the sport of sailing and the skills required but will still focus on fun with friends. The program provides a wide variety of on water activities that will introduce sailing and, depending on your club, an opportunity to experience stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing and power boating. You will learn skills through exciting exercises and put them to good use in fun, on-water activities.

Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this program?

This program is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with others whilst sailing.
